The magnetic separator with inductive detection and blowing (R-SIM) allows for the separation of metals from other materials. A metal, on the acceleration belt, is detected. After processing the information at high speed, a complex pneumatic system performs the blowing of the metal, altering its trajectory and separating it from the natural movement of the other materials.

The total separation of 100% of metals is the goal to achieve in any metal treatment system or project. That is why it is necessary to use different chained stages to reach the maximum value. Nevertheless, even after various stages of separation, we may find metals that have not been separated from the material flow for one reason or another.

A basic reason is poor magnetic behavior, which makes it inert to the magnetic flow and, therefore, unalterable both in ferrous and non-ferrous separation. What would be an example of such a metal? Stainless steel. Stainless steel is extremely non-magnetic and therefore is not affected by magnetic fields in the separation of ferrous materials, and it is also extremely poor at conducting the induced currents from the magnetic fields generated in Eddy Current Separator equipment. Therefore, it is a material that is not correctly and effectively separated in any of the indicated applications. What would be the solution for its separation? The solution for its separation lies in inductive detection.

The new R-SIM equipment allows us to detect any metal and separate it from the rest of the non-metallic materials. The result: either a fraction of separated metals or material clean of metals.

Physical Principle of Magnetic Separation by Inductive Detection and Blowing

The operating principle of the magnetic separator by inductive detection and blowing (R-SIM) is based on a set of high-efficiency sensors that cover the entire width of the equipment. A metal over a detector produces a signal that is processed at high speed thanks to advanced electronics (CPU). A complex pneumatic system is then activated to physically separate the metal. A well-thought-out distribution of the detectors, the high capacity of information processing, and a careful pneumatic valve system allow the metal to be "blown," altering its trajectory and separating it from the natural trajectory of the other materials.

The magnetic separator with inductive detection and blowing (R-SIM) has an acceleration belt that allows high volumes of material to be processed. Likewise, a PC with a touchscreen allows modification and adjustment of the various parameters that correspond to obtaining optimal separation.

The R-SIM is equipped with an air filtration and pneumatic control system that ensures the quality and air pressure necessary for the correct operation of the equipment.

Optimization of the Magnetic Separator with Inductive Detection and Blowing

Parameters such as the material's particle size, circulation speed, distribution and characteristics of sensors and valves, air flow, etc., are interrelated. Through the optimal adjustment of these parameters, we will achieve the best result and the best separation. For this reason:

  • The valves have high capacity and responsiveness.
  • The CPU allows for high processing capacity.
  • The PC and touchscreen offer extensive possibilities for parameter adjustment.
